DOS LIMITATIONS ON SERIAL PORT RECOGNITION

DOS recognizes serial ports only on the following addresses:

  3f8
  2f8
  3e8
or
  2e8

The PCI bus assigns our card addresses somewhere in the thousands.

Sometimes you can get around this problem by assigning the
COM3 and COM4 addresses that our LavaConf program reports
to your DOS application that uses the serial port.
